Hello there, music lovers and in this case especially collectors. This new thread is about the last record you bought (or got as a gift). It does not matter if it is a vinyl record or a tape, CD, digital, whatever. It just has to be the latest you added to your collection. If you bought more than one album on one day, of course, you can tell us about all of them. Try not to be boring and just say "I bought this cos it's a fine record". Say a bit about the artist, genre, this specific album, if you have a special edition, if you would recommend it and to whom. Write a short review if you like. You can also give a rating from 1 point (1 point means someone gave this to me or I bought this but it's the worst record in my collection) to 12 points (12 points means yes, this is the very best record that ever came to my collection). You can post a song example. Or not. Do as you like. Let us know what you got for your collection!

So I am going to start. The day was October 11th, 2015, my location: Leipzig. I was staying at a friends' place (which is why I got the second one I am going to post) and I was at Runes & Men Festival 2015 (Neofolk Festival), which is why I got the first one I am going to post. 1. DEATH IN JUNE PRESENTS: HERR LOUNGE CORPS (MIRO SNEJDR)-The Best Of Lounge Corps ltd. "remember the Jägermeister" edition / blue Vinyl / Genre: Piano Lounge / Neofolk interpretations / got as a gift from Miro SnejdrThis is easy to explain. For those who don't know it, Miro Snejdr is also the pianist of Death In June, live and on the "Peaceful Snow" album. He also did 2 "Lounge Corps" records which were attached to the "Peaceful Snow" record. You could either buy it with "Lounge Corps part 1" or "Lounge Corps part 2", and now this is the best of Lounge Corps. These are piano interpretations of classic DI6 (this is the official short for Death In June, the 6 stands for the 6th month of the year, June, obviously) tracks. Any DI6 fan has this already. If you are not a DI6 fan, but want to hear one of the best pianists out there nowadays and you want some smooth, relaxing piano music, (only instrumentals here), you should also go for it! I was so lucky to get this as a gift from Miro. He misspelled my surname there but well, one day the Runes & Men Festival might be renamed the "Jägermeister & it's effects on people" festival. At least for some of us. Like me, too. You know what I am saying. I don't want to go into more detail. Think whatever you want! I am seriously giving this my 12 points. It's a conincidence this is among the last ones I bought. I am giving it my 12 points for my fave ever record in my collection because of very subjective, personal reasons though - but Miro is a fabulous piano player. He stuns me all the time! Another reason why I am married to Neofolk <3 Facebook page of Miro's music: www.facebook.com/herrloungecorps/?fref=ts ************************************************************************************************************************ Ok, the same day I bought another one. This had nothing to do with the Runes & Men Festival at all. I stayed at a friends place and this friend of mine has a friend who plays bass in a Mexican Black Metal band (did I say Mexican, actually it is "Mayan Black Metal") and yes, he is a Mexican but currently studies in Dresden. I listened to it on youtube and decided I want to support them. So that's why I got XULUB MITNAL - BA'ATE'IL ltd. edition 400 / black vinyl/ gatefold Genre: Mayan Black Metal
I would recommend this to anyone who likes raw Black Metal in the first place. In the second place, that person would still have to be open-minded. If everything you like in this Genre should sound like "Transylvanian Hunger" by Darkthrone and you think it's "untrve" if it is not 100% traditional, grim, frostbitten, trve Norwegian Black Metal, you will have to skip on this one This actually has some ethnical influences of ancient Mayan sounds, which makes it stand out of the mass of Black Metal publications and made it highly interesting to me. Bass player signed it for me. This band might (sadly, as they don't have a big record company behind them or some rich promoter or anything) never become famous but I really appreciate it. 8 of 12 points.

So those were my latest entries...tbh though I left out one CD I also bought on the same day but that's cos I might play a track of it in the LSC someday soon and I did not yet want to reveal it's me. Since I am neither playing Lounge Corps nor Xulub Mitnal at LSC (great music, but too "specific" to get your points, ha ha) I am entering these here. NOW IT'S THE NEXT ONE'S TURN. Show us what you got, I love looking at other's music collections.

About a week ago I went to a local small metal festival and bought 2 EP's of the Belgian band Herfst: - The Deathcult pt.1: An Oath In Darkness - The Deathcult pt.1: Towards Haunted Shores This blackened death metal band grabbed me by the balls from the very first seconds of the gig onwards and so did their EP's ... after some minutes. It obvious that the energy of a live gig cannot always be present on a recorded format, but the gradual build-up of the albums, especially the second one makes up for that. Herfst is a promising band for the future of the Belgian metal scene.
